Summary
This project is one of my most important ones. I decided that in order to improve my level designing skills, I want to create a bunch of blockouts. As such, I chose the genre to be an adventure game since it was the perfect moment to take my time and create a few levels for an adventure game. The inspiration was the Half-Life games. Especially Half-Life Alyx since I had played it. This knowledge, combined with the aesthetic of the post-communist Eastern European block, Eastern block which I was familiar with, helped me with creating an exciting world.
Gameplay Video
Level 1
The first level is set in a center inspired part of a city. It is filled with medium rise buildings, only a few stories high, very close togheter and with very narrow roads. Here the player get accomodated with walking and interacting with objects as well as having a few first encounters with the enemy.
Level 2
The Second level has the player travel through an old subway station, some of the subway tracks and finally into the sewer system thats crawling with infected enemies. This level teaches the player a bit about the combat in the game, with the player acquiring a gun for the first time.
Level 3
The final level has the player come out of the sewer system into a massive boulevard. The decrepit buildings prove to be a challange and so the player has to navigate around them to reach the final building, a former gouverment building retrofitted into the the central point of the enemy base.
